In the 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, the short animated film Produced and Directed by her Mother, Suraya Al Shehry, and sister Nabila Abuljadayel ‘Prostate and Draw Near’ was screened on Animation Day in Cannes. And it won the Animation that Matters award from Animaze. The Short Film Poster was selected as the cover Le Film Français during the Film Festival, and other outlets, such as the Cannes Market News.

Nabila Abuljadayel alongside her mother Suraya AlShehry was selected as “Person of the Month” in The Saudi Times magazine, while her artwork “Wa Isjod Wa Iqtareb” (Prostrate and Draw Near) was chosen as the cover of the magazine. Inside the issue, the mother and daughter duo discussed their short animated film “Wa Isjod Wa Iqtareb” (Prostrate and Draw Near), which won the “Animation That Matters” award at Animaze Animation Day 2024 at the 77th Cannes Film Festival which was directed and produced by Suraya AlShehry and Nabila Abuljadayel.
